Solutrans 2023: Welcome to the E-zone

A look back at one of 2023’s highlights: Solutrans. Thermo King brought sustainable innovation in the E-zone, showcasing electric refrigeration solutions for every transport segment.

As 2024 unfolds, the transport industry looks forward to a promising lineup of events and tradeshows. Yet, the benchmark for success has been set remarkably high, as we closed of 2023 with one of the biggest transport events of the year: Solutrans. Held in Lyon from November 21^st to 25^th, this event captured the collective ambition and innovative spirit of the industry, offering a glimpse into the future of transport. With 2024 event season approaching, we take a moment to look back at the success of Solutrans.

Delivering on a sustainable promise

Thermo King brought its sustainable and all-electric promise to Solutrans: “At Thermo King, we believe in the power of innovation to transform industries. In 2021 we pledged to lead the electrification and decarbonization efforts of our industry by delivering fully electric products in every segment of the cold chain by 2023,” said Laurent Debias, product management and marketing leader at Thermo King.

The Thermo King stand at Solutrans 2023, dubbed the E-zone, both reflected and exemplified this commitment. Visitors to the booth could see how Thermo King turned that promise into reality. Present at the stand were refrigeration units for vans, trucks, and trailers, as well as the latest innovations in fuel-driven refrigeration.

Some highlights include:

• Advancer—e: fully-electric, engineless, and power-agnostic trailer refrigeration unit that can operate with several different power sources: axle, battery, alternator for sustainable and flexible operations.
• E-500—e : 100% electrically powered, flagship single and multi-temperature unit in the E-Series range for urban and inner-city deliveries with electric light commercial vehicles (e-LCVs).
• Advancer A-500 Spectrum: multi-temperature trailer unit, offering industry-leading refrigeration, temperature recovery, and temperature pulldown performance.
• E-coolpac: A platform-independent and highly modular power source for truck and container refrigeration units.
• Aftermarket Services and Solutions: Thermo King supports its clients beyond simply the refrigeration unit. At Solutrans, we unveiled our overhauled Aftermarket offering and its new name: Max Your Cool. Keep reading to find out more!
• Outside area: For the people who wanted some fresh air, there was our outside area. Here, customers could explore what their future fleet might look like! A full trailer with an A-400 unit, AxlePower and an Energ-E pack, exhibited by our Spanish customer Carreras. Sustainable refrigeration? Yes sir!

A hub of inspiration and ambition

Our mission for Solutrans was to foster connections, bring people together, and share our vision of the sustainable cold chain of the future. And we’re glad to say: mission accomplished. The E-zone was visited by more than 200 people – turning into a real hub of connection. We were honored to see such interest, and excited to have had the opportunity to inspire so many.

Solutrans is always one of the highlights of our years. It’s so important for Thermo King to come to these events. Not only are they a great opportunity to showcase our latest technology, but it also allows us to connect with stakeholders and transportation professional – to get to the heart of their needs.
