That\u2019s why we were in Lyon this November, at the 15th biennial&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.solutrans.eu\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Solutrans<\/a>&nbsp;event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Billed as the&nbsp;<strong>biggest show for industrial and urban electric vehicles<\/strong>&nbsp;from 3.5 to 44 tons, Solutrans 2019 involved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>610 exhibitors<\/strong>&nbsp;and participating companies<\/li><li><strong>75,000m2 of exhibition space<\/strong>&nbsp;and outdoor demonstration areas<\/li><li><strong>48,240<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>visitors<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Thermo King and Frigoblock were there with a booth and&nbsp;<strong>a host of new announcements<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 here are the highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The road to Thermotopia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting with our booth, it\u2019s probably fair to say this was a true eye-catcher! Its design, look-and-feel was based on the Thermotopia concept \u2013 and presenting&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/iaa.thermokinginfo.com\/thermotopia\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thermo King\u2019s vision on the future of transport refrigeration<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The principal product on show was the&nbsp;<strong>E-200 all-electric unit<\/strong><\/li><li>Also showcased were&nbsp;<strong>CryoTech, SLXi, and the T-Series units<\/strong><\/li><li>The stand featured&nbsp;<strong>4 \u2018corners\u2019<\/strong>&nbsp;dedicated to Aftermarket, Sustainability, Electrification, and Frigoblock<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The booth also provided the ideal backdrop for our&nbsp;<strong>\u2018customer night\u2019<\/strong>. It was here that dealers were able to invite their customers to come and meet with the Thermo King team \u2013 a session heavy on networking and providing a more social angle to our branding activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Keeping the press on board<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The customer night was a huge success, and led to many interesting conversations. Equally the booth proved a magnet for the media and journalists in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To quote&nbsp;<strong>Arnaud De Ridder, Regional Sales Director (Southern Europe) at Thermo King<\/strong>, \u201cclearly Thermotopia is a bold vision for the market, and one that enticed the press to pay us a visit. At the same time, we also wanted to make the press engagement&nbsp;<strong>more personal and interactive<\/strong>. That meant focusing less on overarching press conferences and more on 1-to-1 briefings at the booth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PR metrics from Solutrans:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>30+ press kits<\/strong>&nbsp;handed out across 2 days<\/li><li>Active discussions with over&nbsp;<strong>30 journalists<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>15 press interviews<\/strong>&nbsp;completed<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Topics of interest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So, a lot of press attention \u2013 but what exactly were we talking to them about? Well at Solutrans, Thermo King arrived with&nbsp;<strong>a number of announcements<\/strong>&nbsp;to get participants talking.
